Les Crêpes de Irene

Aah, Paris! The city of love… the city of crêpes! I still remember my trip to Paris eight years ago. I got to try the real authentic crêpes sold from an old lady on the street.

Tomorrow is Halloween – one of my favorite holidays! I love to make Halloween food because it’s so fun, and the possibilities are limitless. This year, the popular theme is Day of the Dead.
Memphis gals and guys showing off their style and having fun with cake pops and props at the “Selfie Station” during our pop-up bakery event on Broad Avenue.
We recently had our first pop-up bakery sale, and it was such a blast! We had a lovely set-up inside AM Photography/Memphis Bombshells studio, our generous host, on Broad Avenue during their sidewalk sale.
It all began with a Trifle Bowl… I got mine a while back from Pier 1, and I’ve been looking for an excuse to use it. I’ve always liked parfait-style desserts because they look so beautiful in a glass bowl or in a wine glass.
I love good breakfast. Especially when I travel, I enjoy going to one of the local breakfast places, such as Early Girl Eatery in Ashville, NC. However, traveling doesn’t happen often, so I have to create my own paradise every once in a while.
Here is a great recipe for a cheap but tasty meal on a budget, and it takes only about 30 minutes. Cabbage is a great source of vitamins, so it’s really good for you.
This is one of my favorite Russian recipes – “Manti.” Although this dish is very popular in Russia, it’s influenced by the Asian cuisine. The Russians steam the manti in a special pot called “Mantnitsa” but you can buy a steaming pot at an Asian market (the typical steamer consists of a boiling pot and two tiers).
On this very cold and rainy day, I just couldn’t help to post a recipe for the famous Russian Borsh – one of the most traditional foods in Russian cuisine. Borsh is essentially a soup made of various vegetables cooked in beef broth (sometimes chicken) made from scratch. But the main ingredient is cabbage.
Here is a great kid-friendly recipe. I have a son, and it’s always a struggle coming up with foods to satisfy his taste. I try to think of soft foods I can feed him, so that they are easy to bite and to chew. These pot pies are perfect for my little one.
